No, but she may have had a front row seat for Mr. O's speech.

First day of school.

Haha.  We were neither required nor forbidden to show it.  We really didn't have time for it on the first day of school and county policy stated that we'd have to have alternative assignment for the kids who wanted to opt out under the controversial topics policy.  Oh yeah and there was a class change in the middle of it so I opted to not show it live.

I'd like to show it at a later time.  I read the speech and thought it was great.  Especially the part where he says that they're probably not going to make it big as a rapper or basketball player.  So I'm trying to decide if and when I will do that.

Alternate assignment?  Sure...watch the speech and write a few sentences about one thing you agreed OR disagreed with...or do a whole bunch of math problems.  Which do you think they'll choose?

Nice. If the speech was a generic "get out there and study hard to make something of yourself" then I don't see what somebody could possibly write about as a disagreement position. I'll have to watch it on youtube when I get home.

At what point in the video did he active the secret Muslim mindcontrol beams? I want to make sure I've got my foil hat on.

Yeah, there isn't much to disagree with, but I don't want to hear any parent complaints.  If I get any crap, I can say, "Surely your son or daughter can find something to either agree or disagree with".

If a parent bitches, just say "Yeah, I can understand you not wanting a black man to talk to your child."

I haven't read it or watched it, nor will I probably do either.  Not because I disagree or agree or even have the slightest idea about it, but because I am time poor and economically poor and I have more important things on which to focus my efforts.
