Chaulis, the fact that Hackernetwork ever existed has no bearing here.  I signed up here a month or two after I signed up there.  This isn't the place I came after HN got hacked, this is just another place I've been hanging out for the past 7 years.  It's always been nicer than HN, and just because a bunch of HNers hang out here, doesn't make it HN's replacement.

I think I'm starting to sound like Judgie.

Wow... I'm out of the loop for a few days and look at all that I missed!

Honestly, I didn't think anyone was being an asshole... I just thought it was basic, "you're new so I'm going to take a shot and see how you respond," and then, I responded in kind.

I thought it was all just a part of getting to know each other and starting to fit in.  Sorry if I ruffled feathers.
