"Salvadorean citizen Ernesto Gamboa, who worked for 13 years in the Seattle area as a snitch for federal drug agents and contributed to at least 92 convictions for drug- and weapons-smuggling, was "fired" by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in May after asking the agency for regular employment. Gamboa originally entered the U.S. as a visitor but overstayed and now aspires merely to an "S visa" granted aliens who assist law enforcement. Not only did ICE deny that request but, according to a November Seattle Times report, the agency informed Gamboa that he should prepare to be deported. [Seattle Times, 11-15-09]"

TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa man faces charges after a deputy spotted him walking in a clown mask. According to jail records, the man was arrested Tuesday and charged with wearing a mask or hood on a public road over the age of 16 and resisting arrest without violence. The man, who turned 19 on Wednesday, has been released from Hillsborough County Jail on $750 bond.
The St. Petersburg Times reported that a deputy saw the man wearing a clown mask and bright wig as he walked down a street with two other people. The group fled when deputies tried to question them, but were later located.

  A 16-year-old boy who police said made an announcement at Walmart ordering all black people in a southern New Jersey store to leave was charged with harassment and bias intimidation, authorities said Saturday.

  Harassment and bias intimidation?? They were intimidated by a 16 year old's voice on an intercom?  Slap Fight

  The "legal" action in this one bothers me much more than the racial aspect. We're being arrested for hurting someone's feelings with [not even obscene] simple words.

he may not have deserved to get arrested, but he certainly deserved to get fired. and have his parents notified.

still, it didn't seem particularly malicious, more of a joke. if it were malicious he probably would have actually used a slur. he didn't even call them "blacks" just "black people" which is a step below "African-American" in terms of politeness

  I don't think he was an employee. It was just some stupid 16 year old kid. Probably not even racist; just knows that would put everyone in a tizzy.


  Anyway; so we arrest kids for words, deport our own citizens' spouses if the citizen happens to die, but we have to let people like this go free.
