Title: Comic Books
Post by: Skananabittles on May 23, 2015, 03:48:55 PM
I recently picked up a copy of Swamp Thing vol 2 #34 and absolutely loved it. Moore did a damn good job (http://images.sequart.org/images/st34a-660x925.jpg).

But since this was my first time reading Swamp Thing, I dove in kind of uninformed about the entire back story. Has anybody ever read the earlier comics? Are they worth reading and what should I know about the origin story?

I've never read that one at all.  While I was into comics, I mostly read Conan Saga (http://marvel.wikia.com/Conan_Saga_Vol_1), Savage Sword of Conan (http://marvel.wikia.com/Savage_Sword_of_Conan_Vol_1), and old X-Men and Punisher comics.  I was into the NOW Comics Terminator (http://terminator.wikia.com/wiki/The_Terminator_(NOW_Comics)) series for a while too, which had pretty amazing artwork, and even better stories.

I was only ever a casual comic fan; I still have my old Conan Saga books which are probably valuable these days, but I really have no idea.
