Hardware, Software, and Other Imperialist Crap / SQL
« on: January 02, 2003, 04:01:16 AM »
Ok, I read a good deal about the basics of SQL for data entry/sorting/aggregate function, but it didn't mention a damned thing about what extention to give anything, where to upload it, how to access it, etc.

Little help?   :oops:

Anarchy / ErrorFM
« on: December 24, 2002, 12:49:24 AM »
Most of you are probably familiar with http://www.stileproject.com.  Well, about 7 months ago I discovered an Internet radio station on Stile's IRC server.

http://errorfm.com, the aformentioned radio station, has gone from being a tiny 'Net radio station to being...a tiny 'Net radio station with a really kickass PHP based interface!  w00t!

As a DJ, I'm trying to find a way or two to increase the listener count.  This is one way, and I know it's a shameless plug, but so help me...um..yeah.  So, please tune in just once to see if you like it, and hopefully you'll become a regular listener or even a DJ!

Anarchy / Death
« on: November 25, 2002, 01:19:13 AM »
My uncle died tonight.

I didn't know him very well, so I'm not very shocked or upset, but it really makes me think.  He was realatively young, didn't have any medical problems, but *BOOM*.  Dead.

I make it a point of not getting attached to anyone.  Always have.  Seems that something always gets in my way.  Shows what would've happened if I had gotten close to my uncle.  Sure does when you look at how my aunt reacted tonight...

What do you think?

Hardware, Software, and Other Imperialist Crap / C++ Help
« on: November 24, 2002, 05:07:10 PM »
Code: [Select]
// Hello world example
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main()
{
  cout <<"Hello World!" << endl;
  return 0;
}

That works fine as a console application, but not as a Win32 app.  Even when I change iostream to windows.h, it still says I have errors.

I'm using Visual Studio.  Any clue why it's happening?

Anarchy / Reservoir Dogs
« on: November 12, 2002, 06:09:47 AM »
Oh...my...God.

I just watched Reservoir Dogs for the first time, and I'm in shock.  That was possibly one of the best viewing experiences I've ever had.  I so want to dance around to Stealer's Wheel and cut off a cop's ear now.  And the fight between Steve Buscemi and Harvey Keitel, with the gun-to-gun, standing/on the floor thing...how cool is that?

I honestly don't know how I managed to miss such a wonderful movie all these years.  Any other Quentin Tarantino films I need to see?  (Besides Pulp Fiction, I've seen that.  Luuurve it.)

Hardware, Software, and Other Imperialist Crap / Photoshop
« on: November 11, 2002, 02:17:52 AM »
Is anyone here good with Photoshop?  If so, what have you made?

I'm new at it, but getting pretty good, if I do say so myself.  Make text manipulations, mostly.

That last one is my name written as a poo stain.  ^_^

I've made two..well...I dunno what to call them.  I didn't really manipulate them, just added text as I saw fit.

I'm really keen on this.  Any suggestions as to what I should make in the future?  I like making banners, like the two metal pics and the poo stain.

Anarchy / Hormel must die...

I have grounds upon which to sue the Hormel food company.  My can of No Beans Chili had beans in it.  I'm...er...emotionally traumatized...yeah....

It isn't fair that when I'm home and posting, y'all never are.  Takes forever to get a response and makes me feel alone.  Waaah! </whine>

Hardware, Software, and Other Imperialist Crap / Hosts
« on: November 05, 2002, 04:00:06 PM »
My hosting is..eh..ok, I guess, but I need something more.  I currently pay $5 a month for hosting, with 30 megs of webspace, unlimited transfer/bandwidth/POP3 accounts, PERL, CGI, SQL, etc.  But I can't upload certain file extensions over 1 meg (mp3, mpeg, avi, etc), and I'm not safe from someone whois'ing the site and finding my name/address.  I can't add FTP users, nor can I create any directories.  Any suggestions for a reasonably priced host that will allow me everything I'm missing out on now?

Anarchy / Basement or Attic?
« on: November 05, 2002, 01:19:02 PM »
I've decided that it's time for this baby bird to fly from the nest.  But to where?  I want to move into a furnished basement or attic.  Both sound great, but I dunno which to decide on.  Any ideas?

« on: November 03, 2002, 08:03:07 PM »
How do you join a newgroup?  Or just view one?  Every time I find the link to one, Outlook Express tells me the server can't be found.  I realize I probably sound like a retard, but just bear with me..

Anarchy / Scarred For Life
« on: August 25, 2002, 06:44:27 PM »
I just watched a movie called Slumber Party Massacre 3.  Insane violence and pointless nudity all wrapped up in one.  During one scene, a group of girls are playing truth or dare, when one girl is dared to perform a striptease in front of the rest.  Like I said, pointless nudity.  Now, this girl isn't satisfying the others, so another girl stands up and says, "Let me show you how it's done."  She was doing a real nice striptease.  That is, until she took off her bra.  She had salamis for tits.  I nearly gagged.  It was the most horrifyingly grotesque rack I have ever seen, and I shall never watch that movie again because of it.  If you run across Slumber Party Massacre 3 in the video store, and are feeling rather brave, try and sit through this girl's disgusting set of knockers.  They could make a brave man cry.

Anarchy / Evil Sun
« on: August 25, 2002, 04:10:13 PM »
I have a theory that the sun is evil.

Yes, it provides us with light and warmth, but think of all the negative affects.  It hurts my head, it gives me sunburns, and it ruins my mood.  I'm sure many people feel the same.  I tend to cling to darkness, so the sun doesn't do me much good.  I think it's the center of all evil in the galaxy.

If less people worshipped the sun, and more came to loath it, my theory wouldn't seem as crazy, would it?  I was banned from #mensa on EFnet for sharing my opinion.  Damn snobbish freaks, think they know everything about the single most evil ball of gas in the universe.

</meaningless rant>

Anarchy / NES Roms
« on: August 25, 2002, 12:23:35 PM »
Despite all the searching I've done, I can't seem to find any working ROMS for Nesticle besides Castlevania, which isn't all that great.  Anybody know where I can find some that work?

What do I need to play video files ending in .mov?  Kazaa's player won't run them (what else is new?), Divx won't, Windows Media Player won't, and neither will RealPlayer.  :(

Hardware, Software, and Other Imperialist Crap / Switch to Linux?
« on: August 24, 2002, 05:52:12 AM »
I currently use XP, and it's never crashed.  But I'm looking to expand my horizons a bit and learn some new shit in the process.  I'd like to build a new box and put Linux on it, but I'm not sure if it's worth my time and energy.  Any suggestions?

Anarchy / Dr. Who and the Hitchhiker's Guide
« on: August 24, 2002, 05:39:19 AM »
Does anyone know where I can find episodes of Dr. Who and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?  Everytime I try to download an episode of either from Kazaa, it decides to not work.  :roll:
