You all know the routine...same rules as the 2011 book thread.

As always, I set no goal for this because I read too much anyway.

Already read:
1. Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

Currently reading:
Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Titans Curse by Rick Riordan
Red Mist by Patricia Cornwell
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter bySeth Grahame Smith
Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Jane Austen and Ben H. Winters

Oooh, thanks for starting it!  I made my goal of 15 last year.     :-D

This year, another 15.  I don't know what I'm currently reading because I haven't been reading it.  I think it's The Colorado Kid by Stephen King.

I'll try to participate this year

Currently working on:
1) The Mutiny of the Elsinore by Jack London (I bought the complete Jack London for my Kindle so expect a lot of these)
2) The Mythical Man-Month: Essays on Software Engineering by Frederick P Brooks

The less well known Jack London stuff is interesting but feels really dated in some ways (his racist views for example) but in others it seems really up to date.  He was very interested in what we would now call the 99% being exploited by the 1%.

The Mythical Man-Month was suggested by the professor of the Java class I just took and it actually pretty interesting.  My background in college and for the first few years afterwards was in manufacturing and the essays talk about how writing code needs to develop standards for gauging how long it takes to right things and how many bugs should be considered acceptable, etc.  Very dry at times but interesting.  Again reading on the Kindle.

but I'm not setting any goals. The way it's been going lately, I'm lucky if I get a chance to shower, much less write my own books or read someone else's.
Currently on:

1) Perelandra by C.S. Lewis
2) Stiff by Mary Roach

I will shoot for 20 books. Probably undershooting, but it will be nice to overachieve on something.

Finished the Colorado Kid.  What a waste of time.

Hey!  We've been working on this mystery for 25 years now.  Let me lay it all out for you piece by piece so that at the end, we can say we still don't know what happened.

Do you guys include any reference books you might read? I'm currently reading Nordic Runes by Paul Rhys Mountfort and can't decide whether or not to include that in my list.

If you read it cover-to-cover like any other book, I don't see why you shouldn't include it. The only reference book I'm reading right now is an almanac and I only skim through it for what I need to know, so I wouldn't include that. But if I was reading through my copy of The Witch Book: The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft, Wicca and Neo-Paganism, I would probably include that.
