New Hard Drive
« on: June 03, 2006, 02:36:56 AM »

Okay, so I got a new 120gb Maxtor SATA hard drive. I used a program to copy everything from my old hd to my new one. The only files that don't copy are the system files in use by Windows. Now normally I would use the repair utitlity to get these files, but my power supply doesn't have a floppy drive cord meaning I can't use the floppy with the RAID drivers on it, so my SATA drive isn't detected by Windows during setup.

My question is, does anyone know of a free program to repair a Windows installation (or copy all system files from the Windows XP cd) to my other hard drive from within Windows? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated! I know asking for tech support here is frowned upon, but I haven't been able to find anything on google.

Could you not just use a Windows Rescue CD?

Go to your local computer store and buy the adapter to convert the power cord. Thay are cheap and hand for situations like that.
