As a Linux user and member of the open source community, I'm trying to give something back. I've been entertained and informed by countless sites featuring Linux news and commentary, and I've always wanted to start a project of my own.

So I did.

LinuxLevity.org is my new baby. I wish to provide news, opinions, how-to's and anything else that may prove interesting or helpful to fellow Linux users.

The bottom line: I need your help. I'm looking for writers to post how-to's, give opinions on different bits of software or distros, post interesting links, etc. Let me know if you have any interest, and I'll set you up an author's account.

If I have the time, I'll try to send some stuff your way. Most of my experience atm is Solaris 8 and Fedora, but I should be getting a ride on Solaris 10 pretty soon. It's all system administration and hack/counter hack stuff for the most part, though. Is that the kind of articles you're looking for?

I'm looking for anything with relation to the community that might prove useful to someone. You don't even necessarily have to write articles or how to's -- if you happen to see an interesting *nix-related link, just throw up a post with linkage and a description..even an opinion if you're feeling verbose.

That looks like it could be fun. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to contribute much content -- I haven't contributed anything besides snarky comments here in quite a while, and Chris went to the trouble of setting me up with the right account privileges and everything.

I might be able to whip up a quick thing or two once in a while though. I'm always messing around with something Linux-y, and it could be useful to others to read about how some of the stuff I've learned along the way in the process. I use almost exclusively Slackware, so it'd be a bit more nuts-n-bolts than the typical Ubuntu user will be used to seeing.

I've never played with Slackware before...but I just installed Zenwalk on my desktop, so I guess that kinda counts.

Whatever you have the time to contribute is just fine with me. Just PM me with desired login info and I'll set you up an author's account.

XD I usually spell check when it counts. Plus, I have an editor. He usually catches any teeny mistakes I might make.
