Wow. I often wonder why people ever both preparing for the Apocalypse; I imagine the Apocalypse will be one of those "everything in existence gets disintegrated when all the suns in the entire Universe explode at the same time" deals. I just don't think it'd be possible to survive the Apocalypse, let alone properly prepare for it.

But why doesn't it surprise me that that's focused in Amsterdam? Despite my previous statement, I'd like to believe that even the Apocalypse wouldn't touch Amsterdam.

I was browsing though all the "New Age" books at Borders the other day and saw a TON of books about 2012 on the shelf. One of these days, I'll have to look up why so many of these people are panicking over 2012. The only thing that I can think of is that it will be the end of Obama's first term.

It's funny because the Mayan calendar doesn't actually end in 2012, it's just the end of the current period, then they need to recalculate for the next period. Course I think it's pretty cocky of them to plan that far ahead and then not stick around to follow through.
