I've recently noticed, when logging on to my computer at various times, things being changed from the previous time I logged on - Nothing too serious, but I know that I had not previously altered the things that have changed.

For Instance, some of my files have mysteriously disappeared from the "My Documents" folder, and my "Favourites" list is being re-arranged for no good reason.

I have heard that there are programs that can be downloaded from the Internet that tell you if you are being "spyed" on - Any advice would be most welcome.

This site explains what it's all about and offers a free utility to get rid of them. Like viruses, new ones come along all the time so it's not 100% proof. But they offer regurlar updates. It works pretty good.

If your computer is part of a domain, and you use a roaming profile on that domain, it maybe your network administrator messing with some settings. This, of course, assumes that you are even talking about a machine at a place of work that uses domains and roaming profiles.
