New car time!
« on: March 02, 2007, 06:03:38 PM »

Well, newer car at least. I'm looking to get an additional mode of transport for my weekend\summertime joyrides. I want a convertible and have only seen two that look ok to me. One is a Mazda Miata, and the other one is a Mitsubishi Spyder Eclipse.

I've heard mixed reviews of the Mitsubishi and have heard next to nothing regarding Miatas. What do you know about these cars? How about a different Make\Model altogether? Just no Mustangs. Everybody I know that has owned a late model Mustang has regretted it.

The only guys I know who drive Miatas are gay.

Seriously. Three guys, all openly gay and all three drive Miatas. It is weird.

The only thing I know about autos is: Ford (trucks and full-sized vans) > Chevy (trucks and full-sized vans).

Well, my fun little sports car (convertible) is my baby, and I highly recommend her.  Honda S2000.

One of the gay guys I know has a convertible Chrysler Seabring.  The other gay guys I know don't drive convertibles.

A lot of gay guys love Miatas. I don't know why we do, but we do.

Ivan, if I'm going to drive that monstrocity, I need to make a slight adjustment first.

My mom had a sebring.  It's not a good convertable.  It's loud and windy when the top is down.

Miata is totally sweet.  I know a couple of guys who race them.  They're fun to drive.  Plus, they're a chick-car.

I had a Miata for a little while last year on lease while my jag was getting worked over, and I loved it. They're basically the successor to the MG, as far as driveability and feel - the dainty feel of a BMW or MG, with the engine of a (essentially) Toyota. Recommended.
