When modifying MP3 files downloaded from youtube or grabbed from other sources there is mainly two things you want to change, cut out parts like comments and applause and modifying the volume.
How to do that??
Very simple:
Download Direct Cut here:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_software/mp3_tools/mp3directcut.cfmInstall the program and start it up.
In this case I took Kevin Skinners performance on America's got talent because I secretly love country ....
The start file is the youtube video downloaded and converted as posted earlier.
Click file/open and choose the file.
Then push play and wait for the moment you want your new mp3 to start, click "set begin"
then ffw or wait till the desired end, then click "set end"
You see a part of the file with diagonal stripes, that's your selection:
Then click edit and choose "crop"
Voila, long introduction talk and jury comments are cut off and you have your song.
Volume:It's very irritating when you listen to a bunch of mp3's and you constantly have to adjust the volume because one is loud and the
other almost complete silence.
It's very easy. We take our file
Choose edit and then "normalize"
The program checks your file and suggest the amount of Db that would make a nice volume level.
Click Ok and you're done.
If you want it to be louder you can play with the "Gain" option.
There are a few other nice features but that is for you to find out. This is just a short how to..
