Have any of you used any of the password collector/protector type services? If so, which one would you recommend? I've finally (grudgingly) acknowledged that my password schemes aren't secure enough, and to make them secure enough, I'll never be able to keep them all straight in my head. So, password vault type service it is.

Ok, I really don't feel like doing any homework, so can someone please hand me an answer on a silver platter? My video card is about to crap out. PC is a few years old. Current power supply is rated at 250W, and most of the video cards I find are rated at 300W minimum. Two questions:
1. Do I really have to have a 300W power supply or are they trying to extort me into buying additional hardware?
2. If I really do need a new power supply, can I just get one and install it, or will it fry my motherboard (see comment about current power supply being rated at 250W)?

One of our local news outlets (azcentral.com) is changing their commenting system. Gone is the anonymous account registered via the website. The new system will require people who want to comment to have a FB account and their comments will be linked to their FB account. Effectively, if I comment on an article, my name will be there for all the world to see. The decision makers at the paper claim that they're trying to bring back civil discourse by forcing people to be accountable for their words. My cynical nature just think they're entered into some sort of financial agreement with FB. That aside, what do you guys think?

Interesting development there. If I had to list the states where I would expect a personhood amendment to pass, MS would have been on the list. Looks like the personhood movement is targetting Florida, Ohio and South (or North, don't remember which) Dakota next.

I can't remember if I posted this question before, and I'm just too lazy to search for it.
The Clash of the Titans remake...
Io tells Perseus that the head of Medusa will kill anything made of flesh. Earlier in the film, the Kraken is referred to as a "colossal elemental beast". As we all know, the plan works. Perseus turns the Kraken to stone by making it look at Medusa's head. HOW THE FUCK DID THAT WORK!?!?!?
Am I missing something here? If it's elemental then it's definitely not made of flesh. Right?

I'm now getting robocalls from Mike Huckabee. W! T! F!
It's a year and a half until election time. W! T! F!
Also, as a side note, Huckabee's robocall starts with something about "You need to know that Obamacare will DESTROY AMERICA". Now, whether you agree with nationalized healthcare or not, isn't it a little.......alarmist(?) to suggest that this will DESTROY AMERICA.
Fuckers.

You spent time in the Navy. I'm sitting here watching The Hunt for Red October. I don't want a dissertation on whether or not it's accurate. What I want to know is, does the Navy administer psychological tests before they put a person on a sub? I'm assuming they do...what kinds of tests?

Okay, I give up...the online Latin to English translators I'm finding aren't telling me what I need to know. Here's the latin phrase:
Domitus ergo sumus
Here's what I need to know: Does that translate cleanly to 'We conquer therefore we are'? OR, does that contain an error that someone will point out and laugh at?

First, can I get a mod to sticky this please?
Second, here are the rules. 1. Post a reply in this thread stating your goal. This can be a certain amount of weight in a certain amount of time, inches/centimeters lost in a certain amount of time, or some other specific (measureable) goal. a. If you want to list your starting weight you're welcome to, but there's no pressure to do that (I'm not).
2. Once per week, edit your starting thread to show progress towards your goal, adding weeks to the list as we go along. Example:
Lose 100 pounds in three weeks. Week 1: -15 pounds Week 2: +5 pounds Week 3: -40 pounds
3. Those of us participating appreciate encouragement, but ask that you keep the snark (in this thread specifically) to a minimum.
4. The "contest" will end in 12 weeks (8/5/2010). At that time (or before if you hit your goal before then), updated pictures of the participants should be posted to the picture thread.

Novice's idea has grown on me. I'm starting a Biggest Loser thread. If there's enough interest (cough, cough, Xolly and Novice), I'll edit this post with rules. While I do think weight is a somewhat arbitrary measurement, I'm thinking each person's goal should be a specific amount of weight in a specific period of time.
As I said, with enough interest I'll come back and post the thread's "rules". So, who's in?

I coulda swore there was a thread about the movie 300. Anyway, sometimes I'm a bit slow on the uptake...I just watched this thing. I have some questions:
1. Why the fuck is Xerxes a giant, flamboyant drag queen? 2. Why does Xerxes' army contain mutant, non-human things? 3. Why do the Greeks and Persians all speak English? 4. Why are so many of the Persians so heavily pierced?

There's been some theorizing recently about whether or not Rihanna will lose any of her endorsement deals. Apparently the discussion began right after she got the crap beaten out of her. At that point, I would have boycotted ANY company that would have dropped her. However, she has now gotten back together with the shithead that beat her up. Do you think that sends a wrong enough message to youngsters that she should now start losing her endorsements?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29440759/?GT1=43001In short, "A man was been arrested after police said he used counterfeit money to purchase fake OxyContin pills from an undercover officer." Observation: If you buy fake drugs with fake money, should that even be considered a crime?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/12/02/AR2008120200817.htmlEssentially, there is a U.N. resolution soon to be introduced that would seek to recommend decriminalizing homosexuality in U.N. member nations. Evidently in many places around the world, being gay is punishable by jail time and/or execution. The Vatican, in all their infinite wisdom, has come out as firmly against the resolution. They're using some sort of slippery slope argument about this leading to rampant gay marriage. You know...cuz the next step after NOT being stoned to death is a public and happy wedding where all are invited and the state/church/whatever sanctions the whole shebang. Seriously. They're a-ok with state sanctioned murder because of a person's sexual orientation??? Weird Tingly Feeling is wrong with the Catholic church???
