Anarchy / cookin' and bakin' and shit
« on: May 21, 2014, 04:58:07 PM »
Today I made a cake. What other fun stuff should I make? What fun stuff do you make?

(Please post photos, I need more mediocre foodporn in my life.)

Heh. Anyways.

I have a 17" MacBook Pro, and I'm not certain what size hard drive it has, or which version of the OS I'm running (I know, I'm gonna get hell for that, right?). All I know is I have at least 100GB (128GB if a quick Google search and my approximations are correct), and I want to say it's 10.4.xx

In late January, I noticed that the battery was starting to swell. Being me, I Googled it and decided that, in light of what I'd read, I would take it out and run purely on AC. This worked pretty well (except for the expected annoyance of shifting a little too much and the cord pulling out), and my mom promised she would take me to the nearest Apple store the next weekend. The next weekend, I was told that "we have too much to do, Lydia- you're not the only one in this house with shit to take care of. Maybe next weekend." Of course, this scenario repeated itself for weeks.

Mid-March, my computer began to refuse to fully boot. This is the stage I'm at now.

I plug it up (still no battery, my mother refuses to schedule a Genius appointment) and start the thing. The little light at the front (the one you press to open the computer) does a single pulse, and stays dark from then on. The webcam light quickly flashes green. The off-white screen with the silver apple appears, and I can hear the fan and whatever else in there starting up. The spinning gear does its spinny thang (oh, you know what I mean- this screen: http://www.pajbam.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/mac_os_x_boot_screen.jpg), and then it goes black.

I know this isn't a tech support forum, but I'm struggling here

Pwiddy pwease help a girl out?

Entertainment / Myers-Briggs Personality Types
« on: February 14, 2010, 01:11:19 AM »
I just got through with two hours' worth of browsing and reading about Myers-Briggs personality types. I'm an INTP  8-)

Just curious, has anyone else taken the test? Do you feel it's accurate?

I, personally, think it's pretty accurate. What I've read seems to describe me pretty well, and just to be sure, I read the other ones ('cause I'm anal-retentive like that)- and they most definitely did not describe me. At all.

Here's a test, in case anyone wants to take it just so they can participate in this glorious thread  :-D

New Geeks on the Block / Not exactly a new geek, but...
« on: September 13, 2009, 01:01:07 PM »
Haha, I've been here for just a little while, but never took the chance to introduce myself  :-) So now I am!

My name is Lydia, and I'm a geek. (God, that sounds like I'm at a Geeks Anonymous meeting.) Anyways, I like designing websites from scratch, and that's how I make extra cash, as opposed to the ever-present, ever-terrible option of physical labor. I love the outdoors.

I have a mildly unhealthy obsession with Stupid Sexy Flanders. You could ask me just about anything about HP and I can tell you the answer. I like writing fanfiction (now, don't go insulting me because of it, haha). I want to study psychology and then become a world-renowned novelist. I write a lot, and can't stand improper grammar. When I see or make typos, it hurts my eyes.

Uhm... a lot of people say I'm a ßitch, and that's kind of true, but you just need to get to know me. Then I might be nicer
