Actually, that's one of the more fascinating aspects of my whole point. For all the millions of customers who will definitely experience problems with their cell phone company, there are probably just as many who never have any problems, and love their company. I know a man who's had cell service with the same carrier since 1990, through about five mergers/buyouts. The thing he really likes is that he's pretty much able to get whatever he wants from them, given his immense longevity as a customer, and personal knowledge of many of their managers (he's friends with the mother of one of their vice presidents/general managers)- so when he's got a problem with someone low on the chain, he just calls his friend higher up and they fix it without question. Needless to say, his experience is hardly representative- I had numerous calls while working for that company expressing just how bad it could get. On average, everyone will have a problem with their cell service at least once, IMO. Just hope it doesn't end up costing you any money.

In my mind, there's no comparison.
Sucks that we don't all live in my mind.

I've done the Firefox bit. Unfortunately, I don't go many places with computers to plug it into, so it tends to sit around not doing much.
I carry a Swiss Army knife with a DIP switch setter, though, if that counts.

I've been telling people for three years not to use T-Mobile. Ever since Deutsch Telecom decided to jump the pond, in fact. The problem was that the network is built on a shoestring, and barely covers major metropolitan areas, much less roaming. Seems like things haven't improved much.
However, having worked for Alltel, I can tell you with utter certainty that there is no cell service in existence that will never give you trouble. Period. It doesn't exist- even the carrier with the largest network, Verizon, is known to have problems on occasion, and that network isn't perfect- again, none of them are. The thing to acknowlege when purchasing a cell phone is that the company is not out to provide you the best possible service- they're out to make money. Recognizing that and being wary in all your dealings with them will make things a little easier, or at best, more understandable when they do go to shit. If you happen to get a few phone calls in before then, good for you.

Dark Shade; geeks can't take pain in any form, I'm led to believe. Hence the difference. The screaming at the slightest pinprick is rather fun. ... Man, I really got to cut down on the sadism. Worse than crack. Welcome, n00b.

Oy, I give up. Flame whoever you want. Well, now that I've got your permission... Keep your panties on, man. Stop posting drivel about how you don't understand things here, and maybe you'll start getting them. Besides, that wasn't a flame, just an edit.

Well I tried the uninstall and Ctrl F searched through the registry for every reference to Mozilla. Deleted them all and restarted. Still won't work with a new install. Aaaaarghhhh. Registry labels are tricky sometimes- whenever I go through to get rid of something, I'll put the regular name like "mozilla" in, and get rid of all those keys, then I'll put just "moz" and see what that comes up with (be selective. don't just delete a key, review it to make sure it applies to this software and not another software you don't want to kill). Then I'll put "Firefox", then "fire" or "fox" or both. Even then, it's not guaranteed to get the initalled ones like "MFF" or "M1.6FF" or something weird, for which there is no guessing. This is why I don't do it that often. I'm slightly less likely to reformat my machine than to take hours to delete registry keys.

I switched to MyIE2 (now Maxthon) for tabbed browsing. I switched from there to Firefox to get away from IE and for Adblock. I've used Opera, but I wasn't all that thrilled that you had to pay to get rid of the ads, so I may go and give it another whirl now that it's free.

i dont know why people chose to switch to firefox to quickly. and the thing is....they said they switched because it was more secure::chuckle:: I don't know of anyone who said that, but whatever. I switched mainly because of Adblock. The other features just came naturally. I truly couldn't go back to plain vanilla IE.

Now, now. No need to demean Christians by lumping this fool in with them.
I mean, he could be Catholic.

A good place to start is Distrowatch.com.
Thank you, Demo. I've been needing something like that for a while.

And last time I checked Comcast did use MAC addresses. I didn't realize that there are some that don't.

I love this thread.
And Tweaker, if you really think I was picking on you or 'shooting you down', you should re-examine my posts. You took them exactly as you wished to, not as they were intended- good-natured ribbing with a point. I was actually trying to help you to be a better member of this forum, but it would seem your only interest is to do as you please. Be that as it may. Just remember that the more you get banned, the less we like you.
And we actually have liked you, so far.

We tend to consider it common courtesy. After all, the only possible representation you have online is your text, so it's worth it to make sure it's properly formatted and neatly presented. Otherwise, we have to assume that the representation you're giving us is true, and that you're an unkempt, illiterate, smelly child; and I personally refuse to believe that of anyone, unless they're still wearing diapers. You're not wearing diapers, are you?

!!!!!!!!
not to be rude or anything... but y do you keep doing that??? (you did the same thing in my resident evil 5 thread)
I don't think he likes you using AOLspeak and excessive punctuation. The colors are a little irritating also. Start capitalizing, and use only one punctuation at the end of your sentences. Then maybe BizB will be nice to you, with bubbles and happy sunshine, and rainbows.
