My next looks like it will be Oak, Ash, & Thorn at The Freight And Salvage in Berkeley. We'll have several friends out for Sandy's baby shower so we're all going! I haven't seen OA&T since maybe last millenium, I think it was '99 or '00, but it could have been '01. They are tons of fun and you all should check them out. Everyone loves drinking songs, right?

I'm thinking about going to see the Stones. They're coming to Churchill Downs at the end of September. But the tickets are ranging from 60 to 300 bucks.

They go on sale monday by the way if anyone else is close enough.

Last rock concert was Tool a couple years ago.. amazing show. Last concert, period, was when I got tickets as a present for my girlfriend to go see Rascal Flatts when then came through San Antonio a couple months ago.

I went to see Rancid like two years ago. Come to think of it, I should really try and get to a few more concerts. However, being a student means my funds are quite low - which sucks.

Saturday night I saw George Thorogood and the Destroyers. It was the best night of my life. I'll never see sucha good concert again. And after 30 years in the business, Georgie is still as sexy as he ever was, grinding all over the stage and the expressions he dons could make a girl melt. SO HOT. Yes. I died that night.

Saturday we went to the The Freight and Salvage in Berkeley and saw Oak, Ash, & Thorn. Fantastic show as always. I think this was the sixth time we've seen them over the past 20 or so years. Several times they messed up and cracked up and had trouble getting started again. That kind of laughter is so contagious. The whole place was uncontrollably laughing. Check them out, they have some free mp3s on the site.

Hopefully on Sept 15 I'll be going to see Retching Red and The Womentors at Annie's Social Club in SF. Retching Red are incredible featuring Cinder Block of Tilt. Amazing live. I've never seen the Womentors before but am really looking forward to it. An all female tribute to The Mentors? What could be cooler? Check out they're parody names. Frickin' hilarious!

Great show by the way. Retching Red cancelled, but The White Barons were really good (kinda surprising for an opening band). The Womentors were hilarious and had an incredible stage show. They brought out their "sluts", a guy in a diaper and an Arnold Schwarzeneggar mask, a guy dressed as a stripper, a guy dressed as a cheerleader, a guy dressed as a Mentor, a guy dressed as a hippie in a diaper, and a guy dressed as a nerd. They abused their sluts on stage and really put on a great show. Best performance art I've seen in a long time.

I went to see Almost Queen last Friday. They were amazing...the lead singer sounded exactly like Freddy Mecury and they all looked the part. The only problem was that the guitarist and bass player couldn't sing well, so when they did songs like "Somebody to Love" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" they had a choir come onstage to help them out.

IT WAS AWESOME. I totally headbanged at the end of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Saturday we went to see my BIL's band, Make The Eight, at the Oak Canyon community Oktoberfest. Yep they're playing the cul de sac circuit now. Only a matter of time before they can move up to the Bar Mitzvah circuit....

Actually they sounded pretty good.

The last one was Klezident Evil at the Barefoot Roasters last Saturday. Tomorrow I'll be going to see DI and Touch My Rash at the Blank Club.
