If you actually like music, you'll hate what they do to your favourite songs.  I, on the other hand, think they've stumbled onto something that I can appreciate.

I haven't had time for a musical guilty pleasure lately.  Usually I get caught up in one after watching the VH1 top 20 countdown, but I haven't tuned in for months now.

On a rare occasion I might listen to the local bluegrass station.

It is another sign that I'm slowly losing my long-running battle against becoming a stereotypical redneck.

Bluegrass is good stuff; I thought Corporate Country was what stereotypical rednecks listened to.

Are you from Toronto? I was there for a few days two weeks ago. Didn't even bother to go downtown. I just spent my time in my hotel room on the intraweb. I am lame.

To Anwser Demo's question: I have none. I don't even remmeber that last time I held a CD case or played an mp3. I am lame.

I live about 40 miles west of Toronto ... sort of around the bend in the lake just outside Hamilton.  Next time you're going to be in TO email me ... I used to work in the city and I pop in about once a month or so to go out.  Next time you're there you have got to go to Burrito Boyz ... best after-bar food EVAH!

Somebody hep meh. Lyrics for Golden Earring - Are You Recieving Me....
I found two different possibilities of the first verse; I can't tell which is the
right one. I think it's the first one; but most lyric sites have the second.
Does anyone know for sure?

If your circles could be spirals
And your idols were machines
You could pick up all the signals
And flash where you'd be

If you could pick up all the signals
And flash on where you've been

It probably shouldn't count as a "guilty pleasure", but I've been listening to a lot of Edwin McCain lately because I've decided that his songs are conspicuously absent from my guitar/vocal repertoire.

I've learned "I'll Be" over the past week.  I think I'm going to start working on "Solitude" again.  I had that one down once, but I've apparently completely forgotten all of it.

I very much enjoy Edwin McCain.

Another non-guilty pleasure: I've been listening to a lot of DeVotchka lately. :thumbsup

The jazz station.  Every time I listen to it when I'm driving home at night, I have the urge to narrate my thoughts in a 1940s black and white film manner.

And now that I say that, I don't think I've ever watched any 1940s black and white films.

When you've been in the business as long as I have, you get a certain sixth sense about things. For example, this thread. Here I was, minding my own business, reading posts with half my brain while the other half kept an eye on the door, when suddenly there it was: a 40s noir reference. There were two ways I could handle this: the easy way, and the right way. I was about to take the easy way, when it hit me like a windshield in a swarm of bees: I had nothing to say.
