I just got through with two hours' worth of browsing and reading about Myers-Briggs personality types. I'm an INTP

Just curious, has anyone else taken the test? Do you feel it's accurate?

I, personally, think it's pretty accurate. What I've read seems to describe me pretty well, and just to be sure, I read the other ones ('cause I'm anal-retentive like that)- and they most definitely did not describe me. At all.

INTJ - Always have been. Hoping to change that, soon.

I think it's really accurate. I took another similar test - can't think of the name - and the resulting description was very similar.

If I remember correctly I'm pretty firmly on the EN end of things, the last two I'm more in the middle of, either FJ or TJ I think.

According to some tests I've taken I'm an INTJ.

But you need to take the long test to be fully accurate I think and honestly I think your personality can vary some day to day.

The thing with those tests you have to consider is when you take them and your results are given, you start to believe you ARE that personality so(I think) you start to fill out answers that will get you to that results subconsciously. My personality is an IN, I know that but it can be a TJ or an SJ or whatnot depending on how life is going at the time I take it. I used to take a lot of tests and I researched INTJ so I thought that was cool, I'm a 'rare' INTJ but later on I did notice that I started thinking about the answers I was going to give to questions rather then just being instinctual answers. When you take these tests I think you need to go braindead and answer without thinking or the results will be flawed in a way.

I did find a pretty sweet little personality test on Facebook at; http://apps.facebook.com/mypersonality/consent.php Thats the consent form to take it I think. Test is called Mypersonality.

You can take the test but the really cool thing is you can have your friends take the test and 'judge' how they see you. I'm more interested in what people think I am then what I am I guess because I deal with my personality all the time but what people perceive you as is more important in some ways and if you have true friends that truly know you I think they can know you better then yourself because they can be more honest.

Example, my Neuroticism results says "From the way you answered the questions, you seem to describe yourself as someone who is calm and emotionally stable. Based on your responses, you come across as someone who is rarely bothered by things, and when they do get you down the feeling does not persist for very long. However, your friends' descriptions suggest that they feel that you are less emotionally stable than you think. You project yourself as someone who gets stressed out by things more easily than you realise."

*I* don't think I get stressed out that easy, only in fairly extreme cases, but my friends think I get stressed more easily then I think I do.

I think thats interesting...

I've taken a wide variety of tests of this type and I always come out as ENTJ.

It just means I'm a big-picture bossy type. No shocking revelations there.

I remember I took this test once and I can't remember the letters used, but the essential result came up, "Smartass". It was fairly accurate.

My type is the inventor and yes I'm a tinkerer. Demo's type make great leaders because of the J. Since I'm a P I'm more indecisive and get caught up in analysis paralysis.

This is what I got the other day. But like I said, I bet if I take it again in a few weeks, it'll be all different. I think my meta-personality type is "borderline delusional and confused".

J - 53%

Of course, I could have told you the results after I read and answered all the questions but before clicking 'submit'.

Tests like these are easy to predict and, in my opinion, can skew the results towards how the test taker wants to be or has been told he/she is.

Not that I don't think I'm an introvert but given only the two choices, I will always head towards the I.

I have never put my trust in such witchcraft. The one time I deigned to take such an inventory, I was assigned only THREE measures of my whole personality; three, by my honor. I was insulted to be shorted a measure, and be defined only as a "CAD."
