Pop music does tend to make me cringe in general, but I have found some good stuff hidden in the fail.

I couldn't have stated that better myself!  I was just introduced to MCR and have only listened to The Black Parade album. I plan on listening to much more ASAP. Perhaps on free.napster.com at work tomorrow if its an option.

If you are interested in listening to a very "special" song.  You should listen to Avenged Sevenfold's   "A little piece of heaven".  I really like it in a strange twisted kind of way.

Alright the music chat has been great but I am about to pass out... talk to you kids tomorrow...

I'm not too big on Avenged Sevenfold, personally, or Seether, but to teach their own. I do have a strange affection for Fall Out Boy. I dig Rise Against, and I love them for their version of 'Making Christmas' from Nightmare Before Christmas, that was awesome.

Yeah my music tastes are actually quite random. I forgot to mention in that listthat I have also been listening to My Chemical Romance lately now too.  I just got re-addicted to buying CDs.  A strange concept I know.  I am trying to think of what else I have picked up lately... Breaking Benjamin, Thrice, Shinedown...

When I am not in this genre of tastes I can also be found listening to classic rock, country, and yes even pop music (but not as much)

I like Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and I guess I'll look into Bullet For My Valentine while I'm checking out TDG.

Any specific songs for either of them I should check out? I'm listening to Animal I Have Become by TDG right now, because that's my friendy's favourite. Suggestions are good!  :-P

I just picked up the albums from my friend so I don't have many favorites yet.  I do enjoy the One-X album.  My music has been wandering from Avenged Sevenfold (A7X!) to Seether to TDG to Fall Out Boy to Rise Against... etc

First off... hello there fellow newbie...

When ivan's being sarcastic, he'll TELL you he's...

Ah, never mind.

As stated in the above quoted text and also in my newbie thread apparently if ivan is doing anything he will let you know... now the question is will he tell us things we don't want to know...  :|

If ivan thinks you're boring, he'll TELL you you're boring.

Good to know... Now I just need to wait until I bore Ivan and entertain myself with harassing him afterward.

Well I work M-F 7:30-4... but I can't say that I will have an opportunity to roam the forums at those hours... work tends to keep me busy. But when I am home at 4:30 I will take every opportunity to harass you guys for being at work!

Hi.  This really does feel like Geeks Anonymous and I am super excited that this little textbox has spell check for me but mildly disappointed that it doesn't believe textbox is a real word.  As you may (or may not) have noticed I am a self proclaimed geek.  I tend to believe all of my computer engineering friends can't help but agree with me.

So here is my deal... I am a Computer Engineer. Graduated college in Dec 2007 so that either makes me young or someone crazy enough to go back to school and pick engineering.  That is for you to decide or for me to tell you in about 10 minutes if you ask. I work in the Tools group of a software company.  I <3 my job.  I try to write C# code all day but sometimes I get the pleasure of playing in a little perl and setting up some SVN servers.

If you are curious how I got here... I was bored sitting on my laptop at roughly 10:20pm roaming an old forum I used to frequent but now has died a bit.  I then decided hmm maybe I can find a new forum and took the obvious solution of typing 'geek forums' in the little google search box and well I was feeling pretty lucky and took the first result.  I hope this post was geeky enough for you and now to roam the rest of this place...
