I do a lot of writing as a matter of course.  It's a good creative outlet, and when I'm writing rants of any kind, it's a really good way of getting stuff off my chest.

It only makes sense that some of this writing be put to good use and become a contribution to some original material on someone's http://www.gotthegeek.com" target="blank">website, right?

This is why when I was asked if I would be so kind as to write the occasional article for http://www.gotthegeek.com" target="blank">teh Geekery (OMFGLOL!!1), I said "sure!".

But then, Weird Tingly Feeling?

Chris posts something in our super-secret-Geekery-writer-forum that says "I believe everything is just about in order, and we're ready to start putting crap in the sections. Next, we need some sort of schedule on who will update what and when."

What the hell is THAT all about, anyway?!

What the fuck, Chris... do you just think we writers can just TURN THIS STUFF ON AND OFF LIKE A FAUCET OF CREATIVE GOODNESS?

Some people.

As if I can just rant on a set schedule like some kind of trained geek dog or circus pony or something.

Well I got news for you, buddy:  I RANT WHENEVER I DAMN WELL FEEL LIKE IT.

Watch this section next week for my regular twice-weekly rants!

I honestly wish that I could turn my "ability" on and off like a light switch, or a car, or a faucet for that matter.

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Maybe some wires are lose up there that need to be jiggled around.

Try rapping on it with a hammer a few times before sitting down to write.  Sometimes that works for me.

I've learned to just write when I have the motivation and use it when I have it.  I can get something like that to work just fine with a schedule because I normally have enough of it there that I can just write the stuff out beforehand and just post it on a schedule.

But if you don't have enough volume to do that, it can be tricky coming up with stuff consistently.

I'm not on the schedule, but I'll show up everyday and watch everyone else work in their offices. It should be fun. I don't think it'll get much approval, however.
