Anyone see the trailers for this remake of Chairlie and the Chocolate Factory.... Mainly what Johnny Depp looks like in it!!!  :shock:

When I saw him I thought that Michael Jackson was going to be playing Wonka!!! NO KIDDING!!

What's your thought on this...

I just saw an interview with Dahl's wife (a couple days ago) in which she says that he, Dahl, never liked the original version of the film.

all tim burton films look the same... they sort of merge into one homogenous mass... and it's not so easy to enjoy a homogenous mass.

I'm going to see it, but I've got to keep in mind that they most likely did not set out to 'compete' with the original anyways. It'll be hard though. "You get NOTHING! You lose! Good day, sir!"

I remember Wonka BEING scary or creepy from the books I read oh so long ago...as in he's a psycho and orders the Oompa Loompas to kill the children or something? I dunno, there's something like that running around in my mind....
