Happy Obscure Day that's supposed to represent the U.S.'s freedom from the British(if there was reason for choosing the 4th I forget what it was).

Day the declaration of independence was adopted, although it wasn't fully signed until August 2nd.  I believe that they didn't actually create the handwritten version that's on display until after July 4th. 

Basically this day our forefathers said "Fuck This!"
