It involves a very special "nog" ceremony werein the spirits of "The Nog" are called upon to bless the holy drink of winter. It can only be performed on the night before the solstice when the spirits of "The Nog" are the most active.
First you must poor a small amount of nog out onto the hearth fires and burn a branch (or twig) of holly.
Then you pray,
"Oh Nog,
Bless this thy Holy Nog Cup,
That it may inebriate your devote followers."
Then you burn a branch (or twig) of ivy and your nog magically toasts.

Ah.
  My method of getting toasted involves burning a few twigs, too, if you count the stems. Can be performed at nearly any time. Location, however, is a bit more critical.
