Slackware
« on: March 26, 2007, 05:42:59 PM »

I've obtained all the parts for my new computarbohks, save for hard drives. I'm presently downloading the ISO files (extensions .iso, .iso.asc, and iso.md5) with BT, but once they're done I don't know how to burn them properly to a DVD with Windoze 2000.

Alcohol 120% is my preferred ISO burner.

I concur. Alcohol 120% is good for burning ISO image files, as well as making them, too.

So what's everyone's favourite CD/DVD authoring software and why?
Alcohol 120% is my preferred ISO burner.
I've d/led the trial version, and will be checking it out today. I hope it's not crippled to where it just pisses you off; like wait until you've compiled a burn, set everything up - THEN pop-up saying "to actually burn this; purchase the full version". I much prefer a timed full version; you at least get to check out what it can actually do before you cough up $40. Crippling it is like taking the wheels off a car you're trying to sell.
"Yeh, sure! You can sit in it and fire it up! But, uh, to um, drive it; you gotta buy it first. Then I'll even help ya put them wheels on! :-) "

I haven't tried it in a long time 12 but it used to be a 30 day full trial.  Burn and rip speeds may be slowed down though.  I don't remember.

Alcohol 120% is what I use also, only complaint about it is the virtual drives that are turned on by default  :| I don't need Alcohol for that, Daemon Tools is far superior :-D
