Sorry folk, but I have yet another tech question.

What are you guys using to play MP3s and such? I used to use Winamp, but that stopped working and I don't know if it is even worth it to fix.

Is there something better out there? (First person to say WMP gets shanked with this homemade spoon-based instrument I have handy.)

What do you mean it stopped working? Reinstall. Find an old version.

I know, I just wanted to take the time to see if there is anything better out there before I did that. I figured this would be a good opportunity.

In linux I use XMMS, and on the rare occasion that I'm in Windows, I usually use Winamp.

I've tried a lot of media players, and while I'm still not exactly gaga over Winamp, it's still better than most of the other ones I've tried.

I used to use MusicMatch Jukebox.  It was nice, but it was really unstable.  The stupid thing would lock up randomly on me, sometimes just refusing to work at all, no matter what version, no matter what else I had running.

That was what ultimately drove me to look for alternatives myself, and ultimately I ended up settling on Winamp.

I personally use WinAmp. I have an older install file lying around from before they started putting all kinds of useless crap and features into the application. If you want the older install file just drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

I used to use WMP but then when i finally bought an iPod I switched to iTunes, I find it's simplicity to be a lot more user-friendly and wish i had used it in the first place rather than WMP.

*raises hand for Winamp*

Gotta love it. Been hooked on it for awhile now. I wouldn't go back to anything else.
