True. I have two full-sized, console stereos (big, credenza-looking things); one with a turntable, an 8-track tape player, and AM/FM radio. The other is just turntable and AM/FM radio. I also have a TEAC turntable... not sure if it 'goes' with any particular system; I bought it stand-alone.

IBTNP made more of their toys growing up than had bought for them.

Emphatically false. We spent the winter months in Ashtabula Ohio within 300 yards of Lake Erie. I never remember being so cold. Then later that year I had major surgery on my right knee. I spent a long time in a full leg cast.

False. In fact, I was disappointed that the end of the film version of Return of the King missed the entire last chunk of the book, which really shows what Merry, Pippin, Sam and Frodo were made of when they got back to the Shire and found it wrecked by enemies.

IBTNP is a Tolkien fan, but hasn't read the Silmarillion.
