FWIW, I ended up grabbing one of these:

That looks pretty nice. I used to have a Palm (Zire? I think) but when my BlackBerry took over my brain it made me throw it away...

Not much, just out wandering the 'net now and again. Work and daddy-time have consumed most of my free time these days.

I was at this restaurant once. It was haunted. Pseudonymph ordered a sandwich, but they didn't have it. The server suggested spinach dip instead.

She was not a dedicated server.

Hey there Mrs TGI Friday's and then split.

How goes it?

You need to update that to Mrs. TGI Friday's but she brought Livia along so it was okay that she then split.

Yes, you have hit upon exactly what it was designed for. You'd think they would have incorporated that into the name or something...

This entire thread makes my brain hurt.

I did, however, enjoy the single user with two personalities calling BizB freaky.

It's still a king hell of a scary story.

Truly. And timeless. I like that each time I read it it effects me in a slightly different way.

Right now I'm reading Dune: The Battle of Corrin.

I am psyched by the announcement that Brian Hebert is now prepared to complete the manuscript his father started for the original 7th and 8th books in the old series.

i swear i recognize your breath
memories like fingerprints are slowly raising
me, you wouldn't recall, for i'm not my self
it's hard when, you're stuck upon the shelf
i changed by not changing at all, small town predicts my fate
perhaps that's what no one wants to see
i just want to scream... hello...
my god its been so long, never dreamed you'd return
but now here you are, and here i am

anyone know where the term "gobbledy-gook" originated?

Quote
It all started with a 19th century Texas cattleman named Samuel Maverick who became famous for not branding his cattle. His cattle, left unidentified and free to roam, were often "adopted" by other ranchers who termed them "mavericks," and by the end of the century "maverick" had come to mean any sort of rootless wanderer or rebel.

About 100 years later, Sam Maverick's grandson, Maury Maverick, was serving in the U.S. House of Representatives during World War II. Charged with overseeing factory production for the war effort, Rep. Maverick coined the term "gobbledygook" to describe the impenetrable bureaucratic jargon and doubletalk he encountered. He later explained that he based the word on the behavior of turkeys back in Texas, who were "... always gobbledygobbling and strutting with ludicrous pomposity. At the end of this gobble there was a sort of gook." Rep. Maverick went on to issue a memorable edict stating that "Anyone using the words 'activation' or 'implementation' will be shot." Sadly, no bureaucrat was ever actually shot, and unfortunately "governmentese" is still going strong, but it certainly seems fitting that Sam Maverick's grandson would be the "maverick" who fired the first shot against "gobbledygook."

From here.

I'm a little near sighted, but I wear glasses, so we should be fine...

Do what you will today cause tomarrow you might be dead -Writters of buffy the Vampire Slayer(geeky yes but true)[/quote]

To be truly geeky you should quote the original "Eat, drink and be merry. For tomorrow we die." It is a saying from ancient Egypt.

Welcome head strong one.

Please update with reports on the battery life of said iPod. It's one of the few factors preventing me from buying one.

I DON'T NEED TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE

the 40GB? I have a 15GB and can run it for about 12-15 hours depending on how fervent I am about skipping songs.

Same here. I just recharge mine each night.

I get a headache if I smell wine. Drinking it is right out.

Of course, more than two beers now gives me a crushing headache too.

Absolution and a frozen room
Are dreams of men below
I try to grab it but the touch is hot
The mirrors collapses, but the image can not
I’m scared of darkness in a light
I scare myself cause I know I’m right
I see the evil in you’re savage eye
As it cuts right through the sky
Burning inside
