From my morning email updates:

Quote
The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware has been chosen as an alpha court for the migration from the Solaris operating system to the Linux operating system for the CM/ECF application.  Being an alpha court means we are one of the first Bankruptcy Courts in the nation to convert to this new operating system.  Every court will be doing this conversion eventually.  Converting to this new operating system will not change the way efiling is currently done; the application will remain the same for efilers.  This conversion is necessary because it will give us more disk space and new servers.

This could prove interesting. I don't think a proof described as "incomprehesible" is that big of a threat, but these break-throughs always seem to spark more...

Political Opinions / Debunking a myth...

It's obvious and clear, but about time someone put it in print.

Political Opinions / The what Amendment?

An interesting challenge (i.e. difficulty, not a direct challenge (yet!)) to the separation doctrine could be forming in Oregon.

Not that it will matter as Congress continues to ignore the Establishment Clause...

In 1994 Brandon Maxfield was shot through the chin and neck by a faulty Bryco hand gun and paralyzed for life. Bryco has since filed for bankruptcy to avoid a slew of lawsuits over the design flaw, but this week:

Quote
Now, after having helped force Bryco into bankruptcy proceedings, Brandon and Mr. Ruggieri are trying to raise at least $150,000 to buy out the company, one of the leading makers of inexpensive handguns, known as Saturday-night specials, and melt down its inventory of 75,000 handgun frames and slides.

Love it.

I heard a rumor from one of my favourite confidants that new life was being breathed into this board. So, here I am to perform a little e-CPR.

I am a Denizen of HN and Gendom. I am a lawyer, but you shouldn't hold that against me. Yet.

So, um, Howdy.
