For the first time in several months, I can honestly say that I have NOTHING to do today. So I checked the inbox of the comments email account, and I have found the following dated on the 29th of September:

Title: WashPost inquiry for Lacerda
Comments: Hi. I'd appreciate it if someone could forward this to Lacerda. Thanks.
Hi there. I write for the features section of The Washington Post and I?m doing a story about what I call The Wild Friend. We?ve all had one at some point. The Wild Friend is the person who?s always making trouble, or to whom crazy stuff is always happening. They disappear for long stretches; they become homeless or they convert to another religion. I?ve been interviewing people from all walks of life about their wild friends. I came across your entry from June 2002 at
http://www.gotthegeek.com/newspro/archive/news-archive-22-6-2002.shtml
about your "crazy friend" Jason who disappeared into the woods and I wondered if you?d like to talk about him. I?m trying to figure out why we?re drawn to these types of people, what purpose they fill in our lives. I?m also gathering funny anecdotes. I?d need to use your name, but I wouldn?t need to use his.
If you?re game, I can give you a ring and tell you more about it. Just let me know how to reach you.
Thanks,
Libby Copeland

I think there's great potential for comedy gold in this one...

Well, I did a search for Libby Copeland on washingtonpost.com and found a few articles with her name on them.  I think you should contact her Lacerda and see if she's for real.

Holy shit, how did I miss this?

Oh yeah, I'm never around.

Edit: And also, someone decided it would be funny to spam my lacerda@gotthegeek.com account all to hell, so it's pretty much pointless sending me email there.
