Anyone know of good war games for PC?
« on: February 17, 2005, 02:22:02 PM »

I'm looking for presents for a buddy of mine. He's a pretty hardcore RTS gamer, so he has most stuff that's popular. I'm not really familiar with the genre and I don't know all of what he has. I need either something obscure or something new or coming soon. Anyone know any good RTS war games? Any suggestions are appreciated!

I really like the assorted Command & Conquer games, of which there are numerous titles.

Another of my favorites is Dungeon Keeper 2, though that one is a bit vintage by today's standards.

I'm not sure if it counts, but Civilization 3 is also quite good where tactics go.

Wow, that is pretty weird if you think that, that game is pretty old, but I guess you can't beat the 'classics.'

- Anyways, "they're"... they are what? Out they are currently... don't make sense. (should be there)
- Campains is M!zSp3l7d (should be campaigns)

So... let's take a look at what the paragraph should be like:

Yeah, C&C:Generals is his favourite game.  That and Red Alert 2.  I know he already has Warcraft, too..... he's hard to shop for.   :|

I did a search for things like C&C and I found an RTS game coming soon called "Act of War", does anyone know anything about it?  Here's a link:

There's a demo out, but I don't have a gamespot membership.  I probably wouldn't be able to tell if it were any good anyway, I don't think I've every played an RTS game.

Empire Earth 2 is due out next month, that is going to be amazing. That's the one I've been waiting for.

Act of War is getting good press, the new Age of Empires should be out soon too.

Warcraft is entirely to simplistic.

See that, Sneekernet?

You just got totally pwned by our resident shit-for-brains that we've been giving crap to lately.

That can't feel good.  :)
