Cowboy Junkies
« on: February 20, 2007, 05:58:46 PM »

I've  heard a couple of songs by the Cowboy Junkies and I am intrigued by them.  Anyone a fan and have a recommendation as far as an album I should start with?

I only have a couple of songs, but what I've heard I like.  I really like the song Speaking Confidentially.  It's on some compilation that I have.

I really dig the track of theirs on the Pump Up The Volume soundtrack.

I went looking for them on Amazon and found out they have a lot of albums.  Kind of overwhelming.

I was aware of them for a while when their cover of Sweet Jane was in heavy rotation on alty stations. But I was already so weary of heroin chic that I didn't look any further.

The above constitutes a totally useless post, imparting no information whatsoever, and is in effect a piece of brainless posturing that is best left unread. So if you haven't read it, don't.

Don't you saddle me with that obligation.  You guys started this, you'd better hoof it over to the funny machine and start sowing oats.

I must offer up at least a modicum of thanks for introducing me to new music.  I should check these here "Cowboy Junkies" out to add to my music collection.  Something on the hoof would make a fine addition indeed, as I am a fan of live music.

You should start with "The Trinity Session". Some nice covers on that one.

I don't have any Cowboy Junkies in my collection, but I came across something by some barroque dude. It wasn't rock 'n roll, but it was an OK chorale.

So I was out drinking with the guy who played Lurch and Jaws and the android in that one Star Trek episode, and he got really drunk and passed out right in the doorway of the bar, so to get out I had to hop a long Cassidy.
