New Moon was not nearly as good as War and Peace by Dostoyevsky.  Bella was way more whiny and nothing happened until the end.  I hope they get better from here.

Now:  The Last Battle by CS Lewis  (I'm so sad that I'm on the last book.)

Next was merely ok.  It was all over the place, but came together at the end, finally.  I was glad for that.  Still love Michael Crichton.

CS Lewis is a really good author.  I thought all the books in that series were really good.  I read them out of order...but I read them all.

I don't actually read.  Haha!  I get the CD's and put them on my ipod.  I listen to the books in the car and when I cook and clean.  I love it!

Right now, I buy the books used and then donate them to the high school library for a big tax deduction.  I've asked for a membership to an audio book rental club for my birthday though.  Kind of like netflix for audio books.  That's more cost effective for the amount I listen to.

Okay.  That seems a lot better.  I did not think a teacher, such as yourself, would have enough time to read through all of that material.

How many of those are from your Senior English class?  I think we read 3 of those Senior year but another three of those during Freshman and Junior years.

I heard The Owl call My Name, is a good prescribed school book.

We still do Macbeth, and surprisingly, it captivates even the kids of today, here on the tip of Africa - all backward, poor and diseased...

I haven't been keeping track the entire year, so books I've read in the past two months:

The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo
Bush's Brain: How Karl Rove Made George W. Bush Presidential by James Moore and Wayne Slater
Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins
Elsewhere by Will Shetterly
NeverNever by Will Shetterly
Armed Madhouse: From Baghdad to New Orleans - Sordid Secrets and Strange Tales of a White House Gone Wild by Greg Palast
The Silenced by James DeVita
Happy Endings: The Tales of a Meaty-Breasted Zilch by Jim Norton
Eragon by Christopher Paolini
Geek Love by Katherine Dunn
Meditations of First Philosophy by Rene Descartes
Plato's Republic
The Ethics of Ambiguity by Simone de Beauvoir

and I'm now reading:
The Best Democracy Money Can Buy by Greg Palast

Say, are we going to make a new thread for 2009?

Wasn't Shakespeare also supposed to have worked as a government spy??? Records in London show that he was an actor and playwright, but records from his hometown show that he sold grain and stuff.  Nowhere in his hometown records is there evidence that he was a dramatist/writer. There's supposedly no record of his education or of him writing plays. Even his monument next to his grave in Trinity Church, is an 18th century fake - allegedly. Obviously there's more to this, I dont know it all though...
