It is cool that they are getting out and having fun like that.  But to make fun of them, well, it makes me want to take a baseball bat to those people's ankles and make them try it out for themselves.

okay...my feelings about this post can best be represented with the cliche'd representation of human duality: the angel and devil dudes that sit on you shoulders telling you your conflicting feelings.

ANGEL SAYS:
i totally respect these people.  They seem truly happy. It's cool they are out in the outdoors, even though it is probably something they are told they CAN"T DO.  I really think its cool they're not being limited by their "limitation".

DEVIL SAYS:
That's damn funny. A la Timmy of South Park.

Meg Says:  Hey...If I were diasabled I would make fun of myself too...especially on the top of a cliff.

Meg!

Yeah.  I gotta say that I don't think that making fun of disabled people is very funny.  That's just me though.

I think the author of the post was more humored at the fact that they are actually getting out and doing this stuff.. after all, it's not like it's random pics of disabled people all over....think about it, these guys are posing in mud puddles SMILING [that they are having a good time, and are pushing their chair to the limits (no joke, cause they prob cost a shitload of money)].

I say, think beyond the wheelchairs and just get the humor that is there in the actual event taking place, not the people, or their disablilitis.

I read through some of the other posts at that board. Those people are fucking neanderthals.

Well, I am not exactly sure how other people feel, but it seems to me that the gretest source of humor from those pictures for me is the fact that unlike so many with similar dissabilities, these people just go and have fun with their expensive wheelchairs.  Like, for instance, the collest dance performance I've ever seen bas by a guy named sadikki khande (no idea on spelling) but anyway, he had really shrimlpy useless legs, and so he just wrapps them around his kneck and walks on his hands.  I would want to be the guy who tries to mug this guy (because he normally is just in a wheelchair) but his arms are like the size of, well, easily both of my legs.  But he also not only walked, but did traditional (as traditional as possible) african dancing on his hands, and he hopped up onto his drm and stuff all walking on his hands...  over all, a kick ass performance, and the he hopped back up into his wheelchair and rolled himself off stage.

As for wheelchairs, there are some people who do extreme wheelchair stuff, like X-Games style, for the dissabled.

but yeah, why make fun of em....  they've gained a bit of respect from me for actually doing shit, and not feeling too limited.

Rock on Ho0ber i deffinitley agree with him on this one, i was there for the sadikki pperformance which deffinitley was excellent.

Probably the most intresting thing i found was this:
