The Most Awesome Sci-Fi Technology/Structure
« on: May 29, 2010, 12:03:55 AM »

What do you think is the coolest technology or structure that you have seen in any Video Game, Book, or Movie? Just post the the name of it, what it does and where it originates.

Here's my vote to start with.

The Halo Rings
Media: Halo Series
Description: The Halos are mysterious ring-worlds that have the capability to wipe out all life in a given radius. (25,000 light years, according the Wikipedia) But once the other installations receive the pulse, they, too, will activate causing all of the galaxy to be devoid of any life.

Rapture. That's just a city and not one singular structure or object or idea or thing though... Oh well.

I think that the real prize would be the ADAM and the EVE if we're going to be talking about THAT anyway. :\

You geeks can do better than that.

...you asked what I thought was the most awesome, and I answered. I wasn't aware it was a contest.

And while we're at it, exactly what is "better than" a machine which can bend time and space and go all Babel on your ass to boot?

I wasn't referring to the people who already posted. I was referring to the people who haven't. ;)

the Dakara super weapon from stargate. The one used to destroy all of the replicators at once everywhere.

P.S. It could have been used to destroy every living thing.

Beat that

Stop with your drive-by postings and go introduce yourself.

And Agent Smith is real, not Sci-Fi, so he doesn't count.

Mine: Lifestream Materia
Why? Because, after realizing the Lifestream doesn't count, went with the latter and because I can.

Here's another one I found awesome.

The Stargate(s)
Media: Stargate SG1, although the movie is what started it all.
Description: A stargate is...

Why am I explaining this? Unless you've been living under a rock, I shouldn't even have to explain what these devices are.

When I start to think about how much I want stargates to exist my heart hurts. Same with wishing I was the Doctors assistant...The Doctor can never be a woman.
