I sort of skipped over the responses to this thread but didn't read it in its entirety, so pardon me if I've missed something. Also, being gone for a while, I've no idea who this person is. That said, I've major beef with the original post. You are throwing this person into an unfair generalization based on one fucking little game he enjoys. He enjoys Pokemon because it brings back good memories of his childhood. What's wrong with that? Half of the music I grew up listening to would make me sick if I heard it for the first time today, but regardless of it being tasteless, I'll still sing along because it reminds me of my childhood. And even if he didn't have a nostalgic attachment to it and liked it because he, well, liked it.. so? So fucking what. Oh god, somebody has a hobby that is socially deemed childish and unacceptable. As a result, he's not a "man" (whatever that's supposed to mean), nor is he responsible, secure, hygienic, or attractive at all. Because one interest really determines what sort of person you are, right?

So if I tell you right now that in my mp3 player I have a few Pokemon gameboy songs on there, what conclusions would you come to me? Would you make a drawn-out, overly dramatic post about how, because Pokemon reminds me of my childhood, I'm clearly obese, unhygienic, and completely lacking in social skills? Would you deign to give me advice on how to catch men because, clearly, my interests make me an awful person who is incapable of attracting the opposite sex?

Additionally, it's pretty annoying that not only are you lumping this forum poster into a generalization, but you're throwing all the women into one as well. Because all women are the same and like the same kind of men, right? We're all nurturing, soft-hearted creatures whose aspirations in life go no further than finding a man who is both mentally and financially stable (which is, of course, dependent on his hobbies/interests) enough to support us and our horde of crotch spawn. We all are of the conventional mindset, and are only interested in men who are REAL men (because your sex being male has little do with your gender, of course). Give us a little credit here, Joe. Not all of us are vapid and superficial, and by the way you described what women want, that's exactly what you're making us out to be. I have exceptionally high standards for guys, and oddly enough, what video games he plays or doesn't play isn't relevant in how attractive he is to me.

...We're all nurturing, soft-hearted creatures whose aspirations in life go no further than finding a man who is both mentally and financially stable...
On the contrary.
The very fact that our sole aspiration is to cut down the field of men to those who are mature mentally and financially stable makes us cunning, ruthless, judgmental, manipulative, and vicious at best. At worst we are total bitches.
I am proud to fall into this heartless category of woman.

I have to agree with Wunderkind on that one.  Joe may have generalized considerably but that doesn't mean he's necessarily off base.  Nostalgia or not Pokemon would not make a favorable impression on me but I am from a different age group.  You won't see me playin a Smurfs game on DS blech but give me the original Mario Brothers and some pizza and we're good to go.  I think its all about viewpoint overall but at his age childhood was long gone and I would consider it indicative of bigger issues.

I hate the idea that you're supposed to grow up and not do things anymore. It's a crock of shit.

Isn't it? I still go to the parks and roll down hills, and I totally get strange look from parents. I'll pay my bills and taxes but otherwise, I don't care to "grow up." Life's much more fun this way!

All I can say is, you probably should read the replies and then decide if you want to edit that post a bit.
I said up front I was generalizing, which implies exceptions. I said many times it's not about video games. It's not even really about women. It's about being a man. In regards to your mp3 player, I say nothing about women attracting men. Totally different subject  :-)
Anyway, read the replies, and if you are still intent on being butthurt about it, there's nothing I can say to change that anyway.

Cherubim is plural; Genesis 3:24 specifies one flaming sword. Presumably flaming swords were in short supply."

Yes lol, there's no escape from the sex jokes.

And it was getting better but I stumbled home at 2am last night, no idea what happened but this morning it started hurting more.

Did you go camping?

No I got on the wrong train and then I got on the right one which was delayed 2 hours.

That sounds knotty.
