Title: Fair Tax
Post by: Min on May 27, 2004, 09:19:27 AM
If this was already posted somewhere and I missed it, I apologize.

Americans for Fair Taxation (http://www.fairtax.org/default.asp)

A friend of mine shared this with me last weekend.  Demo, are you involved with this in any way?

Edit:

The FairTax is a voluntary “consumption" tax: the more you buy, the more you pay in taxes, the less you buy, the less you pay in taxes.

Voluntary is a key word there.  Do you think it will really work?  I mean, will people voluntarily give out more money?

I also saw a petition on the site.  E-petitions don't work, do they?

Is this why you're sportin' my av today, Detta?  ;)

No, I'm not involved in it, but I support it, and measures like it.  Anything to get away from the ridiculous skim off of peoples' wages called the "income tax".
