Topic: How would I build this controller? (Read 4765 times)

I need to figure out a way to create the following product, eventually for a small production of around 100. It is a controller, that is hooked up to four things.

1. Positive from the car battery
2. 0-5 volt input from an engine sensor
3. 6-12 volt ouput to pump
4. Wire to ground

The purpose of this controller is to vary the 6-12 volt ouput (connected to a pump) in conjunction to the 0-5 volt input. There will be a variable signal, from a car's sensor, that will send a 0-5 volt signal to the controller. This will allow the speed of the pump to be controlled by varying its voltage (6-12 volts) by a direct relationship to the 0-5 volt input.

If #2 is inputting 0 volts, then #3 will out put 0 volts. If #2 inputs 1 volt, then #3 ouputs 6 volts. If #2 inputs 2 volts, then #3 ouputs 8 volts, and so on, so that when #2 inputs 5 volts, #3 outputs 12 volts (100% of #1).

To take this one step further, and this is crucial to the design, there will be two knobs on the controller. One knob will be the start point, and the other will be the full point. The start point knob will set the point of the 0-5 volt input that #3 first outputs 6 volts. The full point knob will be the set point of the 0-5 volt input that #3 outputs the full 12 volts.

Confused yet? This is actually a very simple concept, but I might have explained it poorly.

In addition to the above features, there will be a small red led to show the unit is powered on. Also, there will be a row of lights across the top to indicate the voltage we are outputting (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 volts).

The numbers on the knobs in the picture are for teh 0-5 volt input, which is automatically sent via an engine sensor.

My old one is pretty no-frills. I did spring for the patented "OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET IT OFF ME" sure-grip bottom edge spatula barbs though.

Take 3 frequency generators, or spectrum annalizers, and resonate 3 seperate frequencies (7.5 khz, 5 mhz, 14 mhz) while harmonizing 4.55 khz on a radio frequency generator. As a neat touch have a vandergraff generator running 2 million volts and a tesla coil with 1 million volts nearby. These frequencies are as close as I'm allowed to give you, but their so close you could probably produce the Hutchinson effect within about half an hour of playing around with the dials. The effect has been recorded on many taped experiments to levitate objects, rip appart all different types metals, bounce a 75 pound cannon ball, transmutate metals into unknown elements, and he even made a broom fly, accidentally levitated one of his assistants with out harming him, phased an entire building next door to his lab out of existence, like the philedelphia experiment. The effect is by no means fully understood, but the manipulation of fundamental frequencies delvs into quantum mechanics, and has an effect over all life here, and all machines.
