PlayStation Home
« on: November 27, 2008, 01:18:54 PM »

I was accepted as a beta tester for Home yesterday, and I'm quite impressed. Some things (like stores in the mall area) haven't been implemented yet, but there is now an easy way to meet other players on the PlayStation Network.

You can fully customize your character's look (mine looks exactly like me), but clothing options are limited, so far.

And really, other than bowling, pool, and a few scattered arcade machines, there really isn't anything to do besides talk to other people. But this is still in beta, so more features will be coming soon. Hopefully.

You might want to make sure you're allowed to publicly discuss it.

Cherubim is plural; Genesis 3:24 specifies one flaming sword. Presumably flaming swords were in short supply."

It's fine, the beta is discussed everywhere in a lot of places by a lot of people. I was told by Sony in the Welcoming e-mail that they regularly troll around chatrooms and forums, and that it helps quality assurance. Besides, how would they know who I am?

If you signed an NDA saying you wouldn't discuss it, then it would be wrong to do so.  That's all.
If you didn't, then never mind.  Blab all you want.

I signed nothing of the sort, digital or otherwise.

edit: But I did recently see some videos leaked by a developer. It showed some pretty cool shit. The dev lost his job, and the ability to have any PSN account in the future.

At least my info isn't video.

Gotta move on.

I know. It's hard, though.
if(!farscape) RDA >>> Ben Browder

"Universe" coming next summer!

Indeed. I still need to go buy Continuum (I know, I'm a bad fan)

I will tell you something now, anthough my views are controversial. Two things:

1. Season 6 is the best season, because of the Jonas character. Yes, I went there.

2. RDA has been dialing it in since season 8, so I don't miss him. He's been recycling the same joke and grimace for years. However, I think Browder exceeded expectations, and only because of him did they last through a tenth season. This becomes clear in Continuum: see it, and tell me what you think. I think it's lots better than Ark of Truth, and Browder shines.

Oh, I agree. I'm also personally hacked with Shanks because of his reasons for leaving for that season. This may or may not have played into my appreciation for Corin Nemec.

I just hate how Browder was trying to be RDA for the first, what, season and a half? I know he was probably told to, but still. They could've let him do his thing.
Also, I still cringe when I think about his 'backstory' exposition at the start of season 9.

This becomes clear in Continuum: see it, and tell me what you think. I think it's lots better than Ark of Truth, and Browder shines.

Will do.

What was this thread about, anyway?

I understand. Maybe my perspective is different because I've only ever seen one McGiver episode. When RDA faded away, I felt the chemistry change, but not fatally. On the other hand, if Chris Judge had left the show, I think it would've been fatal.

Have you seen Farscape?
They totally wasted Browder by trying to preserve the RDA chemistry through him, which is really what bothers me. I think they realized that in the 10th season and it's been getting better since then.
Plus, seeing Farscape makes Episode 200 all that much more hilarious.

No, I have never seen Farscape. It is becoming increasingly evident that I should. Maybe a Netflix spree. Then I'll watch ep200 again.

Farscape is very worth it ivan.  The only problem is that it's something like 2 episodes per disc.
