Hello.  Just a quick question. If someone uses a proxy while exchanging information on a SSL/ https site,   does the site strip away the proxy or somehow obtain the actual IP?   Or is https only for encryption?

I am by far not the most smart person, shit I am not even half smart, but I would say it is for encryption only. It would be strange to me if it stripped away the proxy, because the proxy could be hosted internally on a private network, and the website would have no ability to remove it. As for obtaining your real IP address, well I would use the same argument, at work my IP is private, we only have like 6 public IP adresses for the entire buidling, so while it might recieve a public IP, it would be an entry IP only which would be useless for finding my personal IP. I say it is for encryption only, out of the options given. It uses a different port and encrypts the data, 128 bit cypher strength being the standard for north america, I believe that Europe is 64 bit, but the major companies/sites there also use 128. Why do you want to know this?

In fact, I tend to wonder why any of you are here except to waste each other's time.
