I haven't heard any of this, but James LaBrie is a phenomenal singer.  He did a Rock\Metal Opera with Ayreon called "The Human Equation", it also featured Mikael Ã…kerfeldt of Opeth, Devon Graves of Dead Soul Tribe, Heather Findlay of Mostly Autumn, and Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad.  Really worth a listen.

I'll have to check out "True Symphonic Rockestra", thanks

I just started reading "A Game of Thrones" by George R. R. Martin (book 1 of 7 in the A Song of Ice and Fire series).  Only about 10 chapters in, I read slow >_>...

Welcome.  Now wait, do you not dress up for LARPing?  Isn't that part of the point?

I believe he was pointing at Furries, I'm not a furry, but I do wear costumes that fit the characters I'm playing.

So when someone asks where your house is, you can say oh, it would take too long for me to tell you because I have a Gettysburg address.

*headdesk* :-P

Is there a way I can test for this? For example, what happens if I throw salt at them?

Haha, some might melt, others might hunt you down :-P

LARPing kind of scares me. Not the activity itself so much as the people I've met who do/have done it.

I will give you that.  There are a lot of weird people involved in LARPs, but I've also made a lot of good friends as well.

welcome. I never new what LARPing was until just now. Have you ever gotten injured LARPing?

I have never been hurt while LARPing, but things happen.  There are different types.  I'm involved in a Vampire LARP where there isn't any physical fighting and I have played a boffer LARP, where you run around a forest with foam covered weapons and complete quests.  Both are fun and have different aspects that appeal to me, but I play Vampire more.

Hello everyone,

Writing the obligatory newbie-to-the-forum post:

I'm into all the normal geeky things I guess. I work in the IT field... I have more computers in my bedroom than most families have in their house :P.  I love to play older video games and have put homebrew on my DS to make SNES games more portable.  I'm into all sorts of Tabletop RPGs, Wargames (Blood for the Blood God!), and LARPing.  I watch way too much anime and make AMVs.  Sci-Fi and cheesy horror movies are the best (I love a good zombie movie).  I love techno, metal, and punk music of all sub-genres.  If anyone lives around Gettysburg, hit me up ^_^.  I hope to meet some cool people on here ^_^.
