I know the damage it did down south.  In his track you expect to get rain and thunderstorms even up here in Kentucky.  But Sunday really made a mess around here.  A quarter of a million people without power, trees down everywhere, business/schools closed, gas stations with gas in short supply, plus we sent 250 of our utility workers south on Saturday.  They are now due back today.

We were lucky and finally got power back last night about 9 PM, about 32 hours after it went out.  Some people will be waiting 7 to 14 days with the latest estimates.

I went to our shop yesterday morning and got a generator.  I was able to cool our fridge down along with three other neighbors taking turns with it.  I got to spend yesterday afternoon cleaning up all the limbs, leaves, and debris scattered in the yard.

We had 50 MPH winds sustained for over and hour with gusts they say from 75 to 85, depending on who you listen to.

Aren't these things supposed to slow down over land?  I'm not sure of the distance as the crow flies but driving to my sisters place in Lake Charles LA is just under 1000 miles.  Sheesh.

Anyone else in his path have this kind of a wind event?

Edit:
With everything as screwed up as it is at least they did get the power back up at Valhalla golf club for the Ryder cup to go off without a hitch.

You're obviously missing some of the subtitles involved in the process.

At least that's how I read it.

Maybe his orientation is ...different than ours, dc.

Hmmm.  Could be.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.

That doesn't sound like you were very oriented.

I used to work for this company, up until Wednesday last week.  I know how a sore ass feels.

So, you did switch to the one you were talking about the other day?  Good on ya' my friend.

I had this going on a while back and brought it up.

Hasn't been doing it for a while now.  There were also several others having this issue.

If the search function worked I'd tell you to look at it.

We've read Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead, etc.

I'm just wondering how our Demosthenes is going to react if he doesn't have a clue who you are.

Ahhh.  He's getting a lot more mellow these days, you're probably alright.

What did he look like?

Again, wrong Locke. Demosthenes might be able to explain my identity.

Yet you've never spoken to him?

Welcome for the time being anyway.  :-D

This may not be safe for work if you have the volume turned up but the videos from planned parenthood are quite entertaining.

If there's one lesson I will take out of this life, it's that there are rednecks everywhere.  EVERYWHERE.

Are you saying this like it's a bad thing?  :?

When you say travel oriented, do you mean just for checking emails/internets while on the road?  It wouldn't take a lot of money for something like that.

146
Naw, just trying to start a new meme.   :-D

Sorry biz.  Loveyameanit.

I hate to break it to you but I don't think you're his type

Xolick is a chikzor?

I haven't met any of you guys\gals yet.

When you went to northern Kentucky last year you had to drive right by me.  Did you call?  Didn't I tell you to?

I think you're just anti-social.

Nope, haven't run across it at all here lately.

Maybe you're having DNS issues?

Come to think of it, I think it's only been doing that at work.  Probably the crappy phone lines down there that Alltel has.  But it is only this site doing it.

Oh well I'm cutting the service Monday down there anyway.

Thanks guys.
