"I confess to almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have sinned through my own fault,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do."

~excerpt from a traditional prayer in the Mass of the Roman Catholic Church known as "Confiteor"

Im sorry. I know that is but a simple apology for the atrocity in which i have committed. But there is nothing else I can say to describe how "bad" I feel. I was wrong to go against so many of you in your own community, and i was especially wrong to treat BizB the way I did. And so, with my previous "hello" in mind, I will re-introduce myself:

Hi! My name is dudmaker and Im excited to be a new member of this awesome forum. Im 25 and I live in America. By the way, I read the rules and understand this community's feelings about people treating this place like a tech-support forum, But I thought I'd ask my question just the same.  If I get an answer, great.  If not, I understand why.

Is it possible to create a desktop shortcut that would link to a install file of a program that i have already downloaded, and then at the end of the link in the shortcut  add a "pass and argument" whatever, that made it so when i installed the file, it didn't make any registry entries?

       ~thx!

Ah -hem (<< thats a cough requriring attention)

I really dont want to be mean, but when someone is a freaken tard (tard being short for retard), i gotta let them know. Most people are going to read this and completely disagree with me. And I know i might get kicked for this, and i really don't want to be, but after you read this maybe you'll understand the way i felt, and the way i was treated. (by the way, right now im cooled off, i was typing a reply for an hour that was MUCH meaner this this is. But, instead of posting that, im posting this. At least i have some manners, unlike the man (or women, i really dont know) that i'm going to name next.

There are two answers to your question.

The first is here.
The second is here.

Mr. BizB wrote this after i had introduced myself. He , in doing so, proved himself a tard. And not just the kind of tard you see just walking the streets, but a TRUE tard. In other words, he's an idiot. The first link he sent me to in his reply was Zombo.com (which im guessing is a technical support forum, but i didn't really didn't look to hard at it) and the second was directing me to another post someone had stickied that was written by someone called TheJudge. Now what TheJudge had said in the post was that he hated when newbs came in, didn't even introduce themselves, asked some technical question, and then left without a backward glance. Obviously BizB had given me the link to show a point... the only thing i got from it was that he was a freaken tard. BizB posted the link to the topic because i had indeed asked a technical question, AND, the post that i asked the question in was only my first post (this being my second). BUT, he failed to see that the only thing i had in common with the description of the newbs that TheJudge hated, was that i asked a question. You see, I stated in only the first line of my post, that i planned to become an active member of this community. Also, TheJudge said that he didn't like it when the newbs didn't even introduce themselves, that they just skipped on to asking someone a question. But, being a tard, BizB obviously didn't even know that the topic he was replying to WAS INDEED and introduction of myself. And so I ask, what was the point of posting this useless reply? Just to piss someone off? Or was it something else? Was he trying to scare of the newbs? Or was he trying to proove himself tough in front of all his peers. Like the senior of a highschool, bullying on a sophmore because the sophmore had come to HIS school. But nobody really thinks about how hard it was for the sophmore to come up and say high to the senior, and have the senior reflexefly pull back his fist, and get ready to fire. Who does BizB actually think he is? Ok, im getting all messed up here. If your actually reading this, i doubt you care what i think. But think about this. I come along, ready to become part of this forum, and then someone treats me the way he did. As if he was WAITING for someone to come along and introduce themselves. But believe it or not, i dont think its his fault. Actually, i KNOW its not his fault. He's just following the herd. I'v been across a couple of Forums, some that I'v become a daily poster at, and I'v seen this happen many times. Members of the forum take it upon themselves to push around the newbies, to show 'em whose boss. JUST like the senior and the sophmore. LOL, i think id be LESS mad if BizB had just out right flamed me and not been so stupid. I bet you wouldn't have guessed, but i had read many of the stickies and many of the other newbies introduction, just so i wouldn't piss anyone off. WIERD, i know. I just didn't want to be flamed. I spent over an hour reading other peoples posts before i posted mine. I even read the post that BizB so willingly linked to for me. After reading all i had, and only after that posting, someone decides that they STILL gotta put me strait, and posts the stupid post that they posted (wow, thats a lot of posts). But, the reason that im actually bringing this up is BizB did this is because he thought it was ok. EVERYONE does it, why cant he? Or so he thinks.  But this really isn't about HIM, he's just an example. What im trying to point out is, people in forums reguraly flame newbies (like the post that was made underneath this one of the Brazilian). But nobody actually cares what the newbies do, your just flaming them for the fun of it. Like rolling down the window and yelling FUCK-YOU out to the pedestrians just for laughs. LOL, I bet BizB was racing to be the first to flame me. Like being able to say "IM KING OF THE HILL!", he yells "IM THE FIRST TO FLAME!! GIVE ME POINTS!!".  But then, after reading his post, i read Novice's post, which was really nice. HE'S an awesome guy. HE actually wanted to help me. If there is anyone BizB should model after, it would be him, not all of the people who just LOVE to flame newbies. Good practice, right..?

Im sorry if my post does not agree with you. Im just trying to let you guys know how it feels. Being friends with all the nerds from back in the school that we went to, I think I know what you guys have to say to my post. Most of what you got to say is probobly not for younger minds. But in response to that, please dont think of this as some dude who thinks he knows everything, please, please dont. Im just trying to make it better for all the others who, in the future, might want to join this community. Think of it as:  this is a popular Forum on the web, and the web is made up of people all over the world. Your not just flaming one newb, your flaming anyone who happens to be a newb, and reads your flame. What has this person done other than being new? You've all been new to somethings, but when you posted your first introduction here, did you get flamed? If you did, think of how much better this place would be if you hadn't been. I dont know why i deserved such behavior from BizB, i just introduced myself. I understand that this is a problem that will probobly never be fixed, and i probobly shouldn't be wining about it. But... why not give it a chance?

« on: May 07, 2008, 11:41:50 AM »
hello, my name is dudmaker (well... my screename is...) anyways.. before i start on this forum (and i do plan to become an active member), i wanted to say 2 things:
First.. my name pronounced dud (as in a bomb dud) and maker ( as in the maker of bomb duds). Everybody i know first pronounced my name as
Dude Mocker << whered they get that idea?
The second thing i want to say is.. i got a question that i want answered :
"is it possible to create a desktop shortcut that would link to a install file of a program that i have already downloaded, and then at the end of the link in the shortcut  add a "pass and argument" whatever, that made it so when i installed the file, it didn't make any registry entries?"
I dont know ezactly where to post this question, so any help on where it goes, or if there is an answer to such a question.. would be MUCH appreciated. thx!

also, ive looked all over the web, but could only once did i find ANYTHING that even mentioned this idea, they said something about creating a shortcut, and using parameters... but they didn't know which parameters to use... soooo not very usefull at all.
