The fact that my motorcycle is not heavy enough to trip the lights at intersections, so I am forced to wait until another car comes or take a right turn and an immediate u-turn (thankfully u-terns are legal everywhere in AZ)

Until more game companies realize that it's an untapped market, it's an also-ran. A great website for finding out if a game or program will work is http://www.winehq.org/they have a database that includes almost any title you can think of and it is tested on several distros and they are rated based on performance _frank 6

One last thing on this topic,
it is amazing how much windows costs- for one license for home use is 100s of dollars for an enterprise solution the company must spend 1000s of dollars on an os and then spend 1000s of dollars on an office program I am just unwilling to waste my money like that when there are better free alternatives out there 8

That is very true after the initial setup (install, drivers if needed) there is very little that needs to be done to keep the computer running smoothly. even the updates are easy and don't require a restart (except for kernel updates) (good for servers), running linux is easier than running windows for low tech the GUI is easier than windows to navigate and if they learn a couple of commands the CLI is easy to use as well Overall linux is more user friendly and is generally better than windows 9

All i have to say is that some of those low to mid tech consumers that are currently using windows would be better off running Linux. I have run windows on one of my computers for some things and that computer is the only one i have had crash in the last year. Windows uses and unbelievable amount of resources, Has no back end for high tech users and is prone to crashing and security (i know that is because of the market share)
I have just found that when one gives up windows they are making a great decision- no matter what level of computer experience they have 11

a few months ago they admins decided to do a password audit on the staff, most of the staff, as the admins soon found out, was using their last names or phone extensions as passwords for their computer logins. Some of the staff even had their passwords on post-it notes on their computer monitors.
after this audit there were a lot of changes to the password restrictions 12

Ok So I guess hate is kind of a bad way of putting it, I have a problem with the fact that microsoft has managed to consume 90% of the computer market and has become almost a monopoly; because of this they can charge hundreds of dollars for an OS and people will pay for it even though there are better operating systems on the market.
I choose to use only linux because it is Free, Open Source and Better. 14
