Really stupid audio question
« on: September 20, 2003, 05:30:49 PM »

This is a very stupidquestion, but I gotta find an answer.  My case came with front access holes, but only the USB hole had a plug in it.  I live in a deep-South town of 150,000 people.  As you can guess, computer parts are few and far between.  We do have a Radio Shack, so I bought a 3.5mm audio jack, but I have a problem.  I have no idea what wire goes where.  Can anyone tell me where the right channel, left channel, and ground go?  I'd really appreciate this.  Thanks.

Computer stores will buy cases without intending to use all the features available on the case, ie those little holes up front. If there's only USB up front, then your audio is on back, usually some kinda flavor of green. Your garden variety crapola sound cards don't support more than the singe audio wire, for headphones or speakers or whatever. That's what you're probably going to be using.

I hope that helps.
