Just out of curiosity, how many of you read read /. on a daily basis?

Or any news, for that matter?

*edit* I spelled /. wrong, had to edit. Oh man, I need some sleep....

I go there every once in a while, most of the time they have stuff that doesn't really appeal to me. I got to placed like HardOCP, Cnet News, and places like ABC News for "real" news.

Some of Slashdot's comment threads are almost as bad as FARK's, if not worse because of the amount of people there. They have to be well into the millions for accounts now.

I read "serious" local, national, and international news from a variety of sources online.

Then there's the fun stuff at BBSpot and The Onion, among others.

I dont read news, I like to be left in the dark about problems other than my own. I'm self centered that way.

I get all my information from message boards, npr, yahoo (I have it set up for Reuters services since I like them better than AP), and about 20 different email newsletters including Americans United, ACLU, Free Market.net, Greg Pallast, Joe Bob Briggs, GMSV, Taxpayers for common sense, citizens against government waste, LP, GP, DP, RP, NLP, Business 2.0, Declan, REsearch, Alternative Tentacles, etc.

Then there's always the tubgirl site....

I think Slashdot did a pretty good job integrating the comments with their news articles. The only problem that they have is because they have more than one million reigstered members, it's hard to keep up with the comments on each article. It's the same thing with FARK. They used to have some pretty good discussions that went on there, and now it's mostly mindless garble.

Daily. I'm not big on the comments unless there's obvious room for humor, but I like the articles. They bring stuff that I wouldn't normally find, mostly on the science tip.

I get all my news from Frak and from HN.

If no one cares enough to post it there and it is important, hopefully someone else will be talking about it at work and learn me it.

Frak was a great 3-d tetris variant for the Mac a few years ago...
