And what's up with the liberals? What are they liberal about? And then there are those damn moderates. They always mess things up.

And the centrists? What's up with not being conservative or liberal?

Supposedly, conservatives want government out of state business, government off the back of the individual, reduced government spending, little intervention in other countries' business unless there is equal (or profitable) trade of funds between the two, and slow incremental change.

Seriously.

Pretty funny stuff.  Dead-on, too.  They claim all the time that that's what they're out there pulling for.

Right up until the very instant they get elected into office, that is.

One of my favourite Harry Browne quotes is "Republicans campaign like Libertarians, but they govern like Democrats".

You know, I always wonder about that.  I thought Democrats were supposed to be State's Rights kind of people, and Republicans would be that Strong Central Government side of the fence, but it's not really that way these days.  Of course, I'm not sure either side really does much beside sit around and debate.  Both seem to have lost track of what they should REALLY be campaining on, and what their mission in Congress is really all about.

I hate seeing politicians campain on some ridiculous moral platform, when questions of morality rarely get resolved up at the Capitol.  Why not just campain on how you think the government should operate and what you plan to do about the buisness side of our problems.  I guess because people would vote for Elvis these days, before they'd vote for some one with actuall experience.

Democrats say Government will make you faster, taller, richer and get the crab grass out of your lawn.

Republicans say that big Government doesn't work, and then get elected and prove it. /o'rouke

Political ideology is not linear, it's multivariate.  The terms liberal and conservative are meaningless to me.  Stupid labels.

Some kook in our school paper went off on a rant (his name was Dennis Miller, interestingly) about Bush being a liberal. True, you could say that (I implied it earlier), but naturally he didn't touch on anything that made sense (i.e. "Bush is a librull cuz he funds public school education!!1111")....

Bush is a liberal.  More so than Clinton was.

That's my point. He just chose to be completely moronic and NOT prove his point.
