Lately, given the fact that I finally got my very own debit card, I have bought a few things from online vendors for my personal gain.

My latest addition to my setup was a BenQ 17 inch flat screen monitor from Zipzoomfly.com. I was able to buy it for 399.99 without tax, and with free second day shipping. (Linkage)

The main reason why I got this monitor is because my old 17 inch CRT monitor was on its way out, and also because flat screen monitors put out about half as much heat as traditional CRT monitors do. The less heat the better in my room.

I'm currently using 1280 x 1024 as my resolution, and am still getting used to the size difference of this thing.

So, what recent purchases have you made within the last few weeks that are computer related? Anyone out there have any "hot deals" on stuff for sale, or products that they could reccomend to others?

Bought a Samsung SyncMaster 170N 17" LCD monitor and 52x24x52 Plextor CD-RW drive from NewEgg a couple weeks ago. It's quite a change to go from a 13.5" CRT to the 17" LCD.

Just yesterday I picked up a 17 inch flat panel at Fry's for $339. I'm so glad to have the bulky CRT off of my desk now.  :)
