Ok i'm getting a new monitor cause mine broke when my piece of shit deck collapsed  :x

The battle is!!!

CRT vs Flatscreen

I know that CRT give better picture and faster refresh rates... But i am leaning towards a Flatscreen cause their so thin their just awesome lol

I have no complaints about my 17 inch flatscreen. The main reasons I got mine two years ago was the fact that they take up less space, as well as give off less heat.

Some things you may want to consider:

Space - CRTs -> much bulkier

Price - CRTs -> much cheaper

Resolution -> LCDs have a native resolution. It doesn't mean you CAN'T use it in a different resolution, but it won't be the same quality as CRT.

Power Consumption -> CRT requires more power

Repairs/durability -> CRT use really old technology. No mistery when it comes to fixing them (and cheaper components), and because the technology has been around for so long, it's been proven and it's reliable. LCDs have been around for a few years now. But what do you do with a burned pixel?

I've gone through this analisys last year and ended up picking up a 19 inch CRT because I operate at high resolution (higher than the native LCD one), space wasn't an issue, and the price was right. But your situation may be different than mine so do your own analisys.

CRT. I was going to vote for the plasma screen TV, but HOW would you fit that on your desk? Cheaper and better than flatscreen.

Be careful, Flatscreen is not necessarily the same as LCD.

There are the rounded CRT monitors and the flat screen CRT monitors too, and they are called flatscreens.

Flat-screen vs. flat-panel.

LCDs are (correct me if I'm wrong, someone) universally flat-panel. CRTs can be flatscreen.

"Flat" looks really funny and misspelled to me.

Well, I'm on a laptop, so I suppose I have a flatscreen? BUT for my secondary monitor, I just plugged my TV in. I'd pick flatscreen, alot more sexier.

For me, to go with an LCD screen it has got to have an incredibly high resolution and not be more then 19 inches. That was one of the things that I was scepitcal about when buying buy laptop, but since I was already playing an ass load for it I got the screen with the extra high resolution. My desktops will always have a CRT. CRTs are just a hell of alot crispier and overall better looking to me.
