Last night as my daughter and I wandered through Kroger, I found myself singing along to this awful piece of shit. I stopped walking, made eye contact with Jenna and said, "In the 80s, this qualified as music. I'm sorry for my generation."

I think some (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cicvn9AU8kQ) 80's music is quite good (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUvuXJP_LOg) and some of it is just plain iconic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1pEJ9n5-D4)

just wait for the 2080s

In the 80's, what they played on the radio required both rhythm and melodic variation. It was important to "sing" in the "correct key."
In the 90s, this became less important when they realized you didn't need to have the same person singing as was pretending to sing (see: Vanilli, Milli.) Then with electronic processing and pitch correcting, even that became superfluous.
I won't get into hip-hop, which completely does away with the melodic aspect.

I personally am an 80's guy...

I still have that song! Along with the DM, 12, LS, and Demogorm ones. Oh and the one with the most listens is of course that classic by Lacerda

Awesome file retention skills PB. I'm not even sure I have a copy. Mb.

Haha, that one still comes up on my ipod sometimes.
Everything about the 80's was terrible. The fashion, the HAIR!!, the music, the sitcoms. It's all so embarrassing.

Trust me, Min, when I say that the '80s were a HUGE improvement on the '70s when it came to hair and fashion.
HUGE.

I still listen to a lot of 80s music. Ian has really been digging on Black Flag, Minor Threat, Uncle Tupelo, Dio Era Sabbath, and others from that decade.
