Entertainment / Xbox 360: Project Natal
« on: June 02, 2009, 10:43:42 AM »
Just take a look at this:

Project Nahal for the Xbox 360

It that amazing or what... it is under development, so it could end up working far from as great as in this demo. But if we get as promised... WOW! It's like taking the only thing the Wii's got going for it, improving it ten fold and making it truly next gen. I'm excited  :-D

New Geeks on the Block / Dutch geek joins the madness
« on: June 02, 2009, 07:06:02 AM »
Hi all,

I'm known for rambling on and not making an awful lot of sense, so I've decided to introduce myself, bullet-style, in no particular order:

  • I am a web developer: a paper clip, a ballpoint pen and some rubber bands and I'm off to save the web.
  • I am from The Netherlands, Europe. My goal/dream within the next few years is to move Down Under.
  • I seem to be getting older. I am nearing the end of my twenties and sometimes I need a nap early in the evening. I also ponder on about life (my life in particular) and the meaning of it all. I cry myself to sleep, alone.
  • I love all things fast, with a particular soft spot for Formula 1 racing. Must be something primordial. Please don't step between me and my TV when the race is on.
  • I also like all things beautiful. I may not be much of an artist, photographer, writer, designer, film maker, actor or musician, but I very much enjoy, collect & respect their best work. That, and furry animals. And women. I like those too.
  • I am a sucker for techno-nosehair clippers. I lie to myself that I need and use every one of them, even those I've bought & hidden from view since.
  • I consider my 80 GB iPod Classic to be one of the finest inventions every made. I have music for every mood swing. Yes, even an impressive Tori Amos collection.
  • I find it very relaxing to get all worked up over a nice shooter or racing game on my Xbox 360. It's merely a hobby for me though, not a life style. Yet.
  • Microsoft software usually does not like me. I try to be nice, I really do, but I have anger management issues over too much time and work lost over the years. One of these days I am just going to lose it. Yet I persist. Interesting.
  • I am not geeky enough to appreciate Linux. I tried and failed. Sorry. I'll bash that sudo chown some other time. Maybe a Mac instead?

That's all I can think of for now. Looking forward to getting to know other geeks. Be gentle, I've struggled for years with my inner geekiness  8-)
